Korea internet moving and contract checklist

Published

The selection produces questions and an evidence sequence, not a waiver or contract decision.

On this page

Choose broad circumstances only. No address, phone, account or identity number is requested. A service-availability answer must come from the provider.

What should be checked for this selection?

Remaining term: not confirmed

  1. Ask for a service-availability check

Ask the current provider to check the new premises and product availability. No address is entered into this tool.

  2. Confirm the transfer appointment and contract changes

Ask about the installation slot, transfer charge, speed/product changes and whether any new commitment or bundle change is proposed. No fee or appointment is guaranteed here.

  3. Obtain an itemised return or cancellation figure

Ask for the amount and calculation date, separating service discounts, equipment, gifts and any support conditions. Smartchoice warns that actual returns depend on subscription and use.

  4. Check the public moving procedure separately

Where resident-registration move-in reporting applies, Government 24 describes the 14-day reporting period. Check the procedure appropriate to your status; this is separate from internet activation or waiver evidence.

FTC Notice 2025-14, effective 18 December 2025, Annex 2 broadband/bundles; provider confirmation still required · Checked 24 October 2026

This sequence does not decide a cancellation waiver, remaining liability or eligibility. Confirm facts, applicable terms and exact amounts with the provider.

For reference only. Results are calculated in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.

Which availability answer should be selected?

Use the provider’s response; retain unknown if the actual premises and product have not been checked.

A map impression or a neighboring household does not establish the current contract’s availability at the new premises. The tool asks no address and cannot perform a coverage lookup.

What is the collected unserved-area reference?

FTC Notice 2025-14 Annex 2 broadband row 6 describes moving during a contract to an unserved area, with provider confirmation.

Its purpose is a concrete agreement or recommendation reference in a dispute. The checklist asks for the provider’s response, applicable contract scope and required evidence; selecting unavailable does not establish the remedy.

What changes for contract end or remaining months?

Check the actual end date, renewal record, discount return and equipment separately.

An end selection with positive remaining months is shown as a conflict to resolve. Remaining time alone cannot calculate the provider’s cancellation amount or determine that every charge disappears.

Is a public address change the same as an internet transfer?

No. The public procedure appropriate to the person and the provider’s contract process are separate.

Government 24’s 14-day move-in guidance concerns applicable resident-registration cases. It is not a universal foreign-resident instruction or automatic proof that an internet waiver applies. No public deadline is calculated from a private address here.

What are the limits of this tool?

  • No service-coverage lookup or waiver approval.
  • Equipment, gifts, bundle scope and exact amounts require provider confirmation.
  • Public address reporting is a separate, status-specific procedure.

Korea Home Internet Guide provides general contract information. Confirm the applicable terms, eligibility and exact amounts with the contracting provider.
